Yellow Pine and Redheart Key of G# Native American Style Flute
Native style, six hole flute in the key of G# minor. Hand crafted from broadly striped Carolina yellow pine with fully tenoned end caps of redheart. Carolina yellow pine, commonly used in flooring and furniture, makes a fabulous flute because of it's hardness, and gorgeous, distinctive grain. Yellow pine flutes when finished have a warm, translucent glow when the light hits them.
This flute is bored, not split, from a solid blank of yellow pine. The stylized bird fetish is crafted from padauk with an ebony core and sits atop a redheart nest. Topped with multiple hand rubbed coats of 100% natural oil and wax finish for a gentle, warm glow. The flute also features my signature hand burned "morning star" with inlaid abalone cabochon center below the sound hole. The bird is secured with a lace of tan deer hide leather.
This is an attractive flute with an emotive, strong voice. It has a warm, pleasantly buzzy edge, and plays and projects well. The overall length is a streamlined 22-1/2 with a 7/8" bore. The flute comes provided with a hand sewn fleece draw string bag for storage and protection.
